HUMBERTO POIDOMANI/ FROM HELL TO PARADISE / THE STAGES OF HUMAN’S PATH

Humberto Poidomani’s art metaphysically connects current times with the ancient world, allowing society to identify with his woks. 

Inspired by Dante Aleghieri’s Divine Comedy, these works depict different stages of the  human beings’ life journey today from Hell to Paradise

The work “Trojan horse” marks the beginning of the path of man’s doom, through deception and selfishness, seeking self-good without qualms about others.  

The following work “Purgatory #1”, reflects purgatory, human miseries, night, and personal final judgment.    

Poidomani’s work continues with his masterpiece “The Cancerberos”, (Gatekeepers) representing the monsters of our era. They point out to the politicians who guard the Gates of Hell, who do not let anyone out, but neither do they let anyone enter, since they fear that the righteous man who can save everyone will appear.    

As the following stage for the path of men, it comes the work “The Virgin of Chance” that represents hope, as praying seems the only possible solution to overcome the human problems.           

The last stage of Poidomani’s work is “Divine Comedy”, that represents the day, and the redemption of people through art.  This painting presents the call of Beatrice, as symbolizing the Virtue, who shows the arrival to Paradise, the end of the journey in Florence.  

The artist also makes a reference to luck in his work “Lady Luck”, as he considers luck to be essential to travel any path of life.

El arte de Humberto Poidomani conecta de manera metafísica la actualidad con el mundo antiguo, permitiendo que la sociedad se identifique con su trabajo.

En estas obras, inspiradas en la Divina Comedia de Dante Aleghieri, se representan las etapas del viaje del Infierno al Paraíso que tiene el ser humano hoy.

La obra “Caballo de Troya” marca el inicio del camino de la perdición del hombre, a través del engaño y el egoísmo, buscando el bien propio sin tener reparo en los demás.

La obra “Purgatory #1”, marca la siguiente etapa, refleja el Purgatorio, las miserias humanas, la noche, el Juicio Final personal.

El camino continua con la obra maestra “Los Cancerberos” (Gatekeepers), los monstruos de nuestra era. Son los políticos que cuidan el Infierno, que no dejan salir a nadie, pero tampoco dejan entrar, ya que temen que aparezca el hombre justo que pueda salvar a todos.

“La Virgen del Azar” representa a la esperanza; rezar parece ser la única solución posible para superar estos problemas.

Como etapa final, esta la pintura “Comedia Divina”, que representa el día  y la redención de las personas a través del arte. Presenta el llamado de Beatriz, quien simboliza la virtud, y muestra la llegada al Paraíso, el final del viaje en Florencia.

El artista hace una referencia a la Suerte en su obra “Lady Luck”, ya que la considera fundamental para poder recorrer cualquier camino de la vida.
